I expect to win. Every marketing and creative opportunity is a competition, and I’ve proven throughout my career that my creative work and leadership generate powerful results.

My work has been recognized by the One Show, Andy, Communication Arts Advertising Annual, Clio, Telly, Addy, W3, Summit, Silver Microphone and Davey Awards.

Having managed teams of up to 20 creative people, I know how to capitalize on their strengths and encourage them to strive to surpass expectations. Finally, I believe the team always deserves the credit for success. And the client deserves results surpassing goals.

SUCCESSES

Led the Creative Team that strategically repositioned Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina through a customer testimonial campaign in TV, print, POS and online. The creative work reduced negative perceptions of the brand by 39% and increased positive perceptions by 18% in the first 8 weeks of the campaign, based on survey feedback. In the first year of the campaign, sales increased 9%. The 2-year campaign won 18 Telly Awards.

Set sales records for Mederma® Skin Care for Scars™ after multi-media campaign ran for three months on prime time television and in national women’s magazines, and supervised the re-design and rewrote the entire Mederma website. Mederma followed me from one agency to two others due to the success of our creative executions — in each case surpassing previous sales and sales projections for the launch of Mederma Cream with SPF 30. For each campaign, we developed consumer and physician materials, including prime-time, national TV commercials, national women’s magazine print ads, direct mail, sample cards with coupons, brochures and PR materials.

As Creative Director and Copywriter, developed a comprehensive campaign for Disney on Ice’s Little Mermaid on Ice™ which reached annual projected sales in less than 9 months, before launching internationally. The campaign included award-winning TV, as well as print, outdoor, POS, fliers and public relations materials.

Designed and wrote the website for InteriorsInFlight.com, resulting in increased traffic and sales for the manufacturer of high-end seats and cabinetry for private jumbo jets. Website won Gold Awards in the 2016 Summit, Communicator, W3, dot.com and Davey competitions.

Developed social media videos, banner ads, product brochure and sales promotion pieces for Wearever Healthcare washable, reusable incontinence briefs, helping to increase sales 70% over two years’ time with a budget of less than $50,000.

Created multi-media campaign for National Pawn, including TV, print, online ads and POS and direct mail materials, increasing revenues by 13% year over year. TV commercials won Telly and Davey Awards.

Created direct mail campaign out of Polara Roofing Systems polyester material that resulted in 25% response after first mailing and won Andy and One Show Awards, as well as being featured in Communication Arts Advertising Annual. 

Developed full campaign of marketing materials for Bright’s Creek Golf Club and Forest Creek Golf Club, including websites, brochures, print ads, direct mail, sales materials and videos. Won Gold Awards in Telly and Davey competitions.

Wrote and creative directed tourism campaigns for various destinations, including the Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau, Texas Tourist Department, San Antonio Tourism, and print ad campaign and annual report for Grandfather Mountain in NC.

Art directed, wrote and creative directed TV and print campaign for Kanki Japanese House of Steak and Sushi. Increased sales 6% at a time when similar restaurants were down 17%, nationally. TV commercials won Telly Awards.

Created and wrote websites and other marketing materials for various small clients, such as Conquista Wines, LifeTransitions.solutions, PLAYERSNEXT, and others.
